Elena Markwood | Admin/Ops Director

Elena Markwood was born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia and while Columbus feels like home now, she still misses the warmth and sunshine of the South. She received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ohio Northern University and minored in Arts Administration, which led to a role right out college with the Columbus Symphony.

She and Wes got married in May of 2020 right after her graduation from undergrad (any other couples who experienced the joy of rescheduling or altering wedding plans due to COVID, she gets it.) In February of 2022, she made a switch from nonprofit arts administration to the wedding industry and discovered a deep love for celebrating and supporting couples through the process of two becoming one. She launched her own planning and coordination business, Adoration Weddings & Events, in August of 2023.

She and Wes have been part of the Contrast family since summer 2021 and have grown so much as individual followers of Jesus and as a couple through the community and teaching they've found here. Her favorite way to serve the church is by singing on the worship team, and when she's not at church or running a gorgeous wedding day, you can find her reading a rom-com with a cup of tea or spending her Sabbath with Wes getting an almond croissant and taking their dog Ollie on a long walk. She also loves visiting the giraffes at the zoo and she has approximately 11 giraffes in different places around her house, but good luck finding them all!
